Isabel Biver presents a new, updated, and reimagined edition of her book, published by Maison CFC-Éditions, in collaboration with photographer Marie-Françoise Plissart. Plissart has assembled a series of images taken across the city, capturing former cinemas in their present-day state. Isabel Archival materials from private collections serve as a reminder that the capital was once home to a vast number of movie theatres. Isabel Biver also explores the evolution of cinema spaces over time, as well as emerging approaches and proposals for experiencing film in theatres—a practice that continues to evolve.
