This installation takes the form of a column made from archival recycling boxes, sourced from the Brussels City Archives. It was exhibited three times in Brussels between 2019 and 2021. By integrating seamlessly into the space like an architectural column, the work invites viewers to reflect on the role of history and historical fact as foundational pillars of our societies.

While the column appears solid and stable, it is in fact precariously supported by a few sheets of paper or loose files. The boxes are empty, and the structure’s stability is illusory. The installation was accompanied by documents from an investigation into the spread of false information during the First World War, focusing in particular on the myth of the Francs-tireurs.
